Latching onto the Holy Bible

Did you know Mormons and Muslims believe in the Holy Bible?  A common situation that has been observed in every major religion formed after the Holy Bible was designated in 4th century, are religions latching onto the Holy Bible but then producing their own holy book that supersedes the Bible.

The Muslim Qur’an (Koran) wasn’t completed until the 7th century and supersedes the Holy Bible. If one reads the Koran you’ll notice the strong similarities between the two. This is because Mohammed began prophesizing in a region already influenced by Byzantine Christians. The basic teachings of the Bible were known to Mohammed hence why the many similarities.

The Book of Mormon was written and published by 1830. Again within a civilization strongly influenced by the Bible. So both these religions believe in the Holy Bible, but place their own books (Koran and Book of Mormon) as more important. This is clear indication of the author’s recognition of the Holy Bible’s divine authority, and in attempts to draw power to their own cause, latch onto the Holy Bible’s coat tails.

The problem is both these books contradict the teachings of the Holy Bible. Both the Koran and the Holy Bible can’t be true, only one can. Both the Book of Mormon and the Holy Bible can’t be true, only one can. Considering the Holy Bible came first, is more widely distributed and read, is historically accurate and stands strong against all inconsistencies (unlike the Koran and Book of Mormon). I think it’s safe to say which of the Books are legit: The Holy Bible.

Thanks for this great post – people should go to the Bible with an open heart…and God will give them the truth. I’ve not had much experience with the Koran….have only read bits and pieces…but very familiar with the Mormon sect (my dad raised in Utah)….I hate to come across as “judgmental” but how can anyone believe this stuff?

All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field, the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of the Lord stands forever. And this is the Word that was preached to you. 1 Peter 1:24-25

Thank you for your comment Judy, I completely agree with you. 🙂
Love the verse too, there is a similar one in Mark.
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.”
      Mark 13:31
